We received a fantastic parcel from Jamieson and Smith today.

Firstly there’s a stunning kit for The Gibbie Shawl, with 1ply Cobweb Yarn. I may have to secretly hide this and keep ALL FOR ME!
We also have…

…a Banff Sweater kit, with enough gorgeous olive green Shetland DK to knit even the largest size…

…a lovely Tronda Scarf kit, complete with two soft balls of 2ply Lace yarn…

..and 5 x 30g mini skeins of Shetland Supreme. Perfect for mitts or a hat.
Phew! I think that’s enough yarn ogling to satisfy even the most obsessive yarnaholic.
Sorry about the wait, the Style Sheets are now ready for you to download.
Knitting Pattern Style Sheet
Crochet Pattern Style Sheet
Please follow directions and adhere strictly to the fonts/styles, etc. I don’t want to sound like a grumpybum but it will make our lives SOOO much easier if everything comes in looking as it should. In fact, if we run short on time, patterns that aren’t written in the correct style will be ditched, I’m afraid.
Click on the links above to download the Style Sheet as an MS Word document. Save it to your computer and use it as a template to write up your pattern.
Thanks!

Not all cookies and parcels indeed! Well, no cookies today, anyway, but on Saturday there was a lovely yarny parcel.

10 x 50g balls of Tess Dawson Merino 4ply (yes, I know there are only three in the photo, but we do have 10!) in teal and 4 tiny balls of Tess Dawson Suri Silk in black, both yarns available from Angel Yarns. The Suri Silk comes in the tiniest balls I have ever seen! It’s delectably soft and we have a shawl’s worth.
Well, The Inside Loop almost seems like old news now, but there’s still plenty of activity whirring away in the background. It’s not all cookies and parcels in the post!
At the moment we’re working hard to put together the website for the actual magazine. Choosing fonts, planning a layout, running crying to our web-tech-support every so often. There’s loads of things to make decisions on and we thought we’d throw the floor open for suggestions…
What do you think makes or breaks a layout? How should the archiving work? What do you want to see on a page? What really drives you mad? What’s your favourite colour? (sorry, it has to be purple or Kate will break my legs). Should free yarn tumble out of your screen every time you click on a page?
Leave us your thoughts in a comment or an email, but please avoid mentioning specific magazines. Thank you.

In other news, the Style Sheets for knitting and crochet patterns are almost done and will be ready for you to download in the next day or so. Thanks for being patient!

Wonder what my postman thinks of all these parcels that he keeps having to deliver to me?
Today’s post brought this beauty:
Gorgeous 100% merino sock yarn from Middle Earth Yarns. Cairi is another person who has been wonderfully supportive of our mad ambitious plans since even before we went public with the whole thing. It’s good to have a wizard in your corner.
